Tour in Shan State: SAC Chairman tours in Aung Pan and Kalaw

Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, on Thursday made an inspection in Aung Pan town to assess the extent of the damage caused by the recent Mandalay earthquake.

At Aung Pan Hotel, which had collapsed due to the earthquake, the Prime Minister and party inspected the ongoing relief operations and provided necessary instructions to the responsible officials. They also inquired and fulfilled the urgent needs of the rescue teams who are carrying out the clearance efforts.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister inspected the damage caused by the earthquake at the Monastery within the Aung Chan Tha Sar Thin Thaik compound. He reviewed the reports presented by the officials and provided guidance on the necessary actions to be taken. They then proceeded to Kalaw Railway station, where the Shan State Chief Minister and officials presented the current status of the creek expansion and excavation activities along the Kalaw creek.

The Kalaw Township Development Affairs Committee also provided explanation regarding the current status of the new land development project in front of the Kalaw Railway station. After the report, the Prime Minister urged the locals and administrative bodies for collaboration in rehabilitation measure for beautification and socio-economic growth in the area.

Then, the Prime Minister and party oversaw the current status of the riverbank expansion and excavation activities along the Kalaw Creek, as well as the land development projects being carried out to ensure proper flow and water quality.

They also inspected the Kalaw Railway station. During the inspection, the Prime Minister also stated that the station must be well-organized, with the establishment of a proper boundary fence.

He emphasized that only railway staff and passengers should be present within the station compound, and the station should be systematically maintained with cleanliness. He also instructed for systematically restore and exhibit the station’s historical photographs.
