The Youth Awareness Talk, jointly organized by the Central Committee on Youth Affairs of Myanmar and the Nay Pyi Taw Council Youth Affairs Committee, was held Tuesday morning at Basic Education High School No. (3), in Pobbathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, under the theme "Youth and Mobile Phones / Drug Dangers."

The event was attended by Vice-Chairman (1) of the Central Committee on Youth Affairs, Union Minister for the Ministry of Youth Affairs Dr. Maung Thin, who delivered the opening address. As part of the program, students from Basic Education High School No. (3), performed the song "Zati Man" to open the ceremony.

In his opening speech, Union Minister Dr. Maung Thin stated that young people are the future leaders and hope of society. He emphasized that the youth, who will become the leaders capable of fulfilling the hopes of society and the people, must necessarily possess the qualities and skills required for leadership.

He explained that the word "human" is derived from "sprout," meaning that humans, unlike roots that go down into the earth, are beings that always grow upward. As such, teachers are guiding and teaching students to develop the qualities of a sprout that continuously reaches upward, and it is up to the students themselves to maintain that upward-striving spirit.

He encouraged the youth to exercise their best self-discipline; avoiding pitfalls, staying clear of thorns, and steering clear of harm and danger, while striving for personal success and progress, etc. Then, the Union Minister donated sports equipment to Basic Education High School No. (3), in Pobbathiri, Nay Pyi Taw, which was received by Headmistress Daw Nan Nwun Kham.

Afterwards, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Tun Tun presented a commemorative gift to U Aung Myo Than, a representative of young entrepreneurs from the Nay Pyi Taw Youth Affairs Committee, who would be delivering the youth awareness talk. Subsequently, Union Minister Dr. Maung Thin presented commemorative gifts to the school and to U Aung Myo Than.

Then, U Aung Myo Than, the young entrepreneur representative from the Nay Pyi Taw Youth Affairs Committee, delivered an awareness talk on the theme "Youth and Mobile Phones / Drug Dangers." Following this, Director U Kyi Soe Lin from the Nay Pyi Taw Department of Youth Affairs conducted a quiz session for the students. Students who answered correctly were awarded prizes by Deputy Minister U Sit Naing, Nay Pyi Taw Council members, and special guests, after which the ceremony was concluded, it’s reported.
