









Students, supervisors and coaches from ASEAN member states and representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat left for their respective countries via Yangon International Airport on Friday after attending and participating in the 10th ASEAN Quiz (Regional Level) hosted by Myanmar.
Myanmar hosted this year’s event under the theme “ASEAN: A Community of Peace, Prosperity and Sustainability”.
Student (Malaysia), 1st runner-up, Muhammad Adam Haiqal Sha Ari Bin Ismail said “We are very happy winning for the first runner-up. We’d like to thank to our teachers they help a lot. When we stay in Myanmar, it is like home. The place is very comfortable and the food is very delicious. We very like the people and the language.”
Student (Malaysia), 1st runner-up, Sky Broxlyne Roy Maxwill said “It feels very welcome and they are very nice people. Thankful for that. We are so comfortable around Myanmar people. It is very feel like calm.”
Student (Malaysia), 1st runner-up, George Loh Ing Won said “I am very happy to be here in Myanmar. The people here are very friendly and kind. I am glad to know each other and Myanmar is really a beautiful place.”
The aim of the ASEAN Quiz is to foster the spirit of healthy competition among the ASEAN youth in a friendly quiz to promote knowledge and understanding of the vision, roles and functions of ASEAN, particularly for sustainable development of regional peace, solidarity, and prosperity while fostering friendship among the ASEAN youth and sharing knowledge among the peoples of the ASEAN.
Student (Lao PDR), 2nd runner-up, Alisia Saphakdy said “Myanmar people are so nice and so kind. Thank you for the good welcoming and I am really appreciated.”
Student (Lao PDR), 2nd runner-up, Sirilak Sengdara said “They want to get to know me and yeah every happy. They are very welcoming and very nice people. I am very glad I met with them. ”
Student (Lao PDR), 2nd runner-up, Khamsava-Ng Douant H Ansamay said “People here is very kind and very nice. I feel very happy to visit here. If I have a chance, I visit here again.”
This year, Myanmar hosted the hybrid event and a total of 18 students- three each from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Viet Nam participated in person and the students from Brunei, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand joined online. Myanmar team stood first, Malaysia won second and Laos won third prizes in the 10th ASEAN Quiz-Regional Level Competition.
