Rural Area Cycling Tour: Pyin Oo Lwin Rural Area Cycling Tour-2025 opened

In an effort to promote and develop the tourism industry within the Mandalay Region, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, in collaboration with the Mandalay Region Government, organized the Pyin Oo Lwin Rural Area Cycling Tour-2025. The opening ceremony of the event was held on the morning of February 9, at the District Public Sports Ground in Pyin Oo Lwin. The Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism, U Phyo Zaw Soe, attended and delivered a speech at the event.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe stated that the tourism industry not only supports the country's economy but also reflects the nation's image. He emphasized that initiatives like the Pyin Oo Lwin Cycling Festival are excellent programs that contribute to the promotion of tourism. He expressed his hope that all participants of the Pyin Oo Lwin Rural Area Cycling Tour-2025 would enjoy the natural beauty of Pyin Oo Lwin's landscapes along the route and ride together in unity.

Following this, the Mandalay Regional Government's Minister for Security and Border Affairs, Colonel Nay Lin Soe, also delivered a speech.

Subsequently, Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe fired a gunshot to officially start the cycling event, after which the cyclists began their journey from the District Public Sports Ground along the designated route.

The Deputy Minister and officials then visited the Pwe Kauk Waterfall Resort to welcome the arriving cyclists. They presented commemorative badges and certificates of honor to participants who contributed to the Pyin Oo Lwin Rural Area Cycling Tour-2025, which is part of the domestic tourism revival campaign. A group photo was also taken to mark the occasion.

Later, the Deputy Minister and officials toured the Pwe Kauk Waterfall Resort, including the Glass Bridge, elephant performance areas, Dinosaur Kingdom, and other facilities designed for tourists to relax and explore.

In the afternoon, Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe traveled to Mandalay City and visited the Information and Communication Counter on 68th Street, operated by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism. The counter provides easy access to travel-related information for both domestic and international tourists. He inspected the counter and provided necessary guidance.

The Deputy Minister also visited state-owned hotels, including the Mandalay Swan Hotel and the Tun Hla Hotel, to review their operations and the accommodation status of guests. He issued directives to address any needs or improvements required.

Earlier in the morning on February 10, Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe visited the Mandalay Branch Office of the Department of Hotels and Tourism. He met with the staff, delivered a speech, and addressed their concerns, providing necessary support and solutions to their requests, it’s learnt.
