






The Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, U Myo Zaw Thien, along with relevant officials, conducted field inspections on April 28 to examine the implementation of agricultural, livestock, and manufacturing activities through the cooperative system, as well as rural development efforts in the Mandalay Region.
First, the Union Minister and officials went to the office of the Mandalay Region Cooperative Department. There, they met with staff from the region, district, and township-level departments under the ministry, as well as executives and members of the regional cooperative society and township cooperatives, and delivered a speech.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials met with summer paddy farmers in Nanda (South) Village, Patheingyi Township, delivered a speech, and the Union Minister coordinated and followed up on the local farmers' presentations regarding regional development.
Next, the Union Minister and officials arrived at the Htan Thone Pin model village in Singu Township, which is being implemented as a modern model village. At the village multipurpose hall, they met with village committee members and delivered a discussion. They then inspected the livestock activities of dairy cattle and goats raised under a group system supported by the Responsible Business Fund (RBF), providing necessary coordination and support.
After that, the Union Minister and officials visited the Weaving and Vocational Training School (Meiktila) under the Small-Scale Industries Department. The principal of the school explained the status of the school's one-year course for yarn and textile specialists, the six-month hand-weaving course, and short-term and long-term training courses, as well as employment outcomes for those who completed training.
The Union Minister provided necessary supplementary instructions. Then, the Union Minister and officials inspected the pre-monsoon cotton cultivation status of the Kyun Shwe Wa Farm and General Economic Cooperative Association in Gway Zee Village, Pyawbwe Township. Responsible officials explained the status of pre-monsoon cotton cultivation in Pyawbwe Township and the provision of seeds and inputs under the Rainbow Project. Based on the explanations, the Union Minister provided necessary guidance and coordinated support for the presentations made by local farmers, it’s reported.
