Preservation of Tradition & Culture :Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung on Thursday attended and delivered an opening address at the opening ceremony of the 27th Mandalay Region Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition.

In his opening remarks at the Mandalay City Development Committee office in Chanayethazan Township, the Chief Minister stated that the art forms of Myanmar traditional singing, dancing, composing, and playing instruments are invaluable intangible cultural heritages that reflect the spirit, mindset, culture, and way of life of the Myanmar people, and he urged participants to compete to the best of their abilities at the central-level competition.

Afterward, the Chief Minister and responsible officials opened the competition by cutting the ribbon, enjoyed the performances, and awarded honorary cash prizes. The regional-level competitions will continue at designated venues until September 9.
