










Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, accompanied by Deputy Ministers, region ministers, and responsible officials, visited universities, education degree colleges, and basic education schools in the Sagaing and Mandalay regions on September 4.
The Union Minister met with university rectors, students, and teachers to observe the teaching and learning environment and to inspect the completion of new and repaired classrooms. First, the Union Minister visited Sagaing University of Education and met with the acting rector, heads of departments, and professors at the convocation hall.
She proudly noted that after the Mandalay earthquake, the university opened a training camp to help students prepare for reentering the matriculation exam. She expressed her appreciation for the university's diligent efforts in providing students with food, accommodation, and healthcare.
The Deputy Ministers then delivered their speeches, and the acting rector presented information on the university's academic and administrative affairs. After that, the attending professors and department heads discussed their needs, and the Union Minister and officials coordinated to address them.
After the meeting, the Union Minister had a friendly conversation with the university students, encouraging them to work hard to become educated and good people. From there, the Union Minister visited Basic Education High School No. 1 in Sagaing and Sagaing Education Degree College.
She warmly greeted the teachers and students, urging them to study hard and participate in school activities. She also toured the schools to inspect the new and repaired classrooms and temporary classrooms, and observed the students learning peacefully. She provided necessary guidance.
The Union Minister then met with the Mandalay Region Education Officer, district and township education officers, headmasters of basic education schools in Mandalay, and teachers at the hall of Basic Education High School No. 16 in Mandalay to provide necessary instructions.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister attended a meeting at the Mandalay University Research Center to discuss the university's centenary celebration. The Deputy Ministers also participated in the discussion, and the Mandalay Region Government Minister, the Rector of Mandalay University, and alumni presented reports on the progress and gave suggestions for a successful centenary celebration.
The Union Minister then responded and coordinated to provide the necessary support. Then, the Union Minister donated 10 million kyat from the Ministry of Education for the centenary celebration and warmly greeted the alumni.
