Resumption of Pang Pet Mill : Meeting for successful implementation of Steel Mill

Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr. Charlie Than presided over a meeting with responsible officials from No.2 Steel Mill (Pang Pet) in Taunggyi Township, Shan State on September 11 and 12.

In his speech, the Union Minister highlighted the purpose of the meeting which is to assign responsibilities and address the requirements for the safe resumption of the mill. The Union Minister emphasized the need for systematic project management, technical oversight, financial control, contract management, accurate progress reporting, and effective coordination among relevant departments.

He also instructed on proper documentation of changes in project costs and budget expenditures in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. Moreover, the Union Minister urged the attendees to fulfill their respective duties to ensure the successful implementation of the No.2 Steel Mill (Pang Pet) project.

During the meeting, reports pertaining to arrangements to increase skilled work force, quality enhancement of the products, qualified raw material availability and further plans were presented. Upon reports, the Union Minister stressed on manufacturing operations upon completion of machine and equipment installation and called for the readiness to overcome potential challenges and difficulties and quality product production.
