Occupational Safety : OSH measures for insured factory workers

Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe on Saturday met with Occupational Safety and Health Committees and Labor Affairs Committees at Apex Plus Garment Co., Ltd. and Tri-Win Leather Co., Ltd. in Hlaingthaya (West) Township.

He coordinated labour affairs with committee members and workers. The Union Minister later observed the medical treatment to insured workers, provided by mobile medical teams. The teams, comprising of specialist doctors from Labor Hospitals provided treatment, medicines, laboratory tests, ECG examinations and eye check-ups to 2,122 insured workers from the two factories.

The Social Security Board provides healthcare services to over one million insured workers in Yangon Region through 23 township clinics, 52 contracted clinics and 21 departmental clinics. It reimbursed more than 7.9 billion Kyats in medical expenses during the 2025–2026 fiscal year and over 1.5 billion Kyats from April to July 2026.
