





The 62nd 8-month course for Pharmacist Grade (4) (Laboratory) of the Department of Medical Services was opened at the State People’s Hospital (Hpa-an) on Monday.
At the event, Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo said that the treatments are given depending on the results issued by the laboratory so that it is very essential for the test results to be correct and accurate.
He called for the trainees to take duties responsibly and serve the interest of the state in whatever role they are after completion of the course upholding health care services of the entire people.
Later, the Medical Superintendent of the State People’s Hospital reported on the salient points of the course and the State Chief Minister provided cash for the trainees as the course expenditure.
42 trainees from Kayin and Rakhine states as well as Ayeyawady, Bago, Magway and Sagaing Regions are attending the course and pathologists and laboratory staffs from the State People’s Hospital (Hpa-an) will conduct the course.
After that, the State Chief Minister and party encouraged the flood-affected households who are being accommodated at the rescue camps in No.1 ward, Hpa-an due to the floods in the low lying areas in Hpa-an because of surging Thanlwin river by torrential rains and provided food stuff. At the rescue camp of gymnasium, 313 people of 90 households are being accommodated and the state chief minister and party presented foodstuff to the flood victims.
The Department of Disaster Management also presented cash for one-week rice ration for 90 flood affected households. The State Chief Minister and party then observed accommodation for flood victims, rendering health care services to them and arrangements for water and electric power and cordially greeted flood victims.
They then visited low lying wards in Hpa-an to open more rescue camps if necessary and looked into resettlement of the flood affected people and measures for rescue works.
According the observation at 1 Pm of Friday, Thanlwin river reached at 814 centimetres. Two rescue camps are being opened in Hpa-an now and arrangements are being made to open more rescue camps if necessary.
