





Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe presided over a meeting with senior officials under the ministry at Social Security Board in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
In his speech, the Union Minister underscored the pivotal contribution of skilled and reliable civil servants for the emergence of better administrative mechanism. He highlighted the work implementation of the ministry which is striving to create better and safe workplaces for the labors through government, employer and employee tripartite efforts.
The Union Minister also encouraged the attendees to broaden their knowledge and understanding in existing labor laws, by-laws and regulations, and called for the unity and harmonization among departments and staff. In the evening, the Union Minister met with the personnel who served in Certificate of Identity-CI issuance process for Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand.
During the meeting, the Union Minister stated that CIs have been issued to more than 429,000 workers by organizing four CI camps in Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Surat Thani and Chiang Mai and one mobile unit in Krabi.
The Union Minister instructed on systematic duty handover and records, and comprehensive reports on difficulties encountered. After supplemented the discussions and reports presented by the officials, the Union Minister concluded the meeting.
