Parliamentary Affairs : Meeting with Hluttaw Representatives in Kayin State

Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn, who is also a member of the Myanmar Parliamentary Union, met with the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Kayin State Hluttaw and representatives in Hpa-an on Saturday.

During the meeting, U Maung Maung Ohn urged Hluttaw representatives to serve as a bridge between the people and the State by raising public concerns through questions and proposals and by actively participating in the legislative process.

He urged all to review, amend and draft laws in line with current conditions and to take an active role in legislation aimed at national development and peace. He also stressed the need to strengthen the capacity of representatives and Hluttaw office staff through cooperation among the Hluttaws. 

Kayin State Hluttaw Speaker U San Ko briefed on legislative affairs, followed by discussions by the representatives. U Maung Maung Ohn also presented MRTV set-top boxes to the Kayin State Government Office and Kayin State Hluttaw Office.
