





Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr Maung Thin attended the 14th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Youth and related meetings, held virtually from August 19 to 21 under the chairmanship of the Philippines.
The meeting reviewed ASEAN youth programs and approved ASEAN Work Plan on Youth 2026–2030, a youth declaration and a statement on strengthening young people’s digital resilience. Union Minister Dr Maung Thin shared Myanmar’s youth development activities and plans in line with the ASEAN youth work plan.
The 10th ASEAN Plus Three Ministerial Meeting on Youth, attended by the ministers from ASEAN, China, Japan and South Korea, was also held and its joint statement was adopted.
The Philippines handed over the ASEAN chairmanship to Singapore for 2027–2028. Singapore and South Korea will also take over as co-chairs of the ASEAN Plus Three youth meetings. ASEAN senior officials’ meetings were held on August 19 and 20 as part of the related meetings.
