



The Nationwide Association for Buddha Life Stories Quiz is organizing the Thuta Quiz Idol 2022.
80 contestants participate in the Season -1 contest, and 2 contestants must compete against one another at each stage.
The number of contestants will reduce to 40, from 40 to 20, and from 20 to 10 until 5 contestants are left in the end.
Contestants who reach Top 5 are awarded with prize medals and 50,000 kyats each. The final question is worth 3 million kyats.
If a contestant can answer that question, he or she would become a Quiz Idol for 2022.
Sayadaw Dhamma Cakehti, Central Patron Sayadaw, Buddha Life Stories Quiz Association said “There are contestants who come from cultural skills training, Dhamma school and home schooling. Contestants should study 8 books, 6 series per book, of Maha Buddha Life Stories, Buddha Life Stories Quiz Primary text book and Intermediate text book to prepare. Any students from Grade 8 to Grade 10 can participate in the contest.”
Cakehti Tharya, Responsible Sayadaw, Myawaddy Exam Center, Myawaddy said “The congregation asks the children to study Buddha Life stories and books written by the Supreme Sayadaw. The benefits are that the children will become polite and gentle, will fond to read books, and will know how knowledgeable the Buddhist books are. We would also teach them how to take notes for the contest.”
The contestants who have been selected for the next round have been awarded the Quiz Exemplary Award with the cash prize of 30,000 kyats each, and also 10,000 kyats each were awarded for participating the quiz.
Hay Man Oo, Quiz Exemplary Award Winner, Thuta Quiz Idol – Season 1 said “I have studied primary text books, intermediate text books and advanced text books, and 8 books, 6 series per book, of Mahar Buddha Life Stories to participate in this contest. I have tried my best and calmed myself during the contest.”
May Thazin Khat, Quiz Exemplary Award Winner, Thuta Quiz Idol – Season 1said “I am competing from Mayangon village of Thaton township in Mon State. I have studied about the Buddha including Abhidhamma, Sangha, history and culture of Theravada to participate in the contest. I always keep my mind clear whenever I study. I had taken my first test online.”
The final round of the contest is scheduled to be held on the 28th of May.
