





Youth and Literature Festival kicked off in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.
The opening ceremony was held at Wunna Theikdi Stadium, with the attendance of State Administration Council Chairman, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The Ministry of Information organized the festival to commemorate the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Union Day.
The festival aims to sharpen the talents and ideas of children and youth who will become the future leaders of the country, to develop good habits of participating in group activities while celebrating the festival happily, to stimulate the creativity of young people and increase their desire to read and study literature, to build future Myanmar society with their good ideas.
Deputy Director General, Information and Public Relations Department, Kyaw Zin Soe said “The exhibitions at the festival includes health sector, national archive, science and technology, education, marine and aviation sectors. Likewise, books on national literary awards winning authors were also displayed here. The festival is a combination of awareness programs and fun fair for the young people of our country to enlighten their idea and creation for the future.”
The festival includes book sales, displays of prominent authors, children reading room, aeronautical demonstrations, displays of historical treaties and records, sports activities gallery, cartoon exhibition, exhibitions of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Deputy Director General, Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training, Dr. Nyan Win Than said “We put on display the equipment that the students use in their practical lessons at the university. The exhibition includes three parts including automation, renewable energy and automobile technology research. It will guide the high school students about the study of science and technology.”
Director, Sports and Physical Education Department, Htay Aung said “The visitors to the exhibition including young people, students, departmental staff and families and people, will come to know about the history of victory in Myanmar sports sector. It will also encourage them to have more interest in doing sports.”
In addition to the exhibitions, the festival provides entertainment programmes, puzzles, and paint house building competitions for the children. The festival is being held for three days from January 29th to 31st, following the COVID-19 rules and regulations.
