


Embassy of Israel in Myanmar is making the constant contributions for the country to help in responding the emergency situation of COVID-19 pandemic.
This was the first Embassy which donates the needs to a hospital since the COVID-19 outbreak has occurred in Myanmar. The contributions of the embassy started at Waibargi Hospital, and then continued at Hpa-An General Hospital and Myawaddy General Hospital.
On 11th August, Israeli Embassy together with Ayeyar Hinthar Holding Group donated 4 Portable Ventilators to Pathein General Hospital for more taking care of COVID-19 patients.
Ambassador, Embassy of Israel, H.E. Ronen Gilor said “This donation is of equipment that came directly form Ministry of Health in Israel- Special portable ventilators for the patients of Covid and it was manufactured with Israel Industry-Israeli technology and the Ministry of Health in Israel is using that. Because it’s portable is very easy to transfer and use in the Hospitals. And I think that the Pathein General Hospital can take advantage of equipment that we also use in Israel.”
At the donation ceremony held in the Embassy of Israel in Yangon, the medical superintendent from Pathein General Hospital accepted the donated items amounting 3,500 USD per each and gave words of thanks.
Medical Superintendent, Pathein General Hospital, Dr. Kyaw Zin said “I’d like to thank Israel and Israeli Ambassador to Myanmar for such humanitarian assistances. At the hospital, we’ve used many ventilators in 1st wave, also, HFNC machines were more effective for critically suffered patients in 2nd wave, and now due to the limited oxygen in the 3rd wave, Oxygen is a major need. These four portable ventilators will more effective in giving standard treatment to the patients.”
At Pathein General Hospital, during the last 2 weeks, they’ve been giving treatment to around 140 Covid-19 patients daily with 3 physicians, 15 assistant physicians and around 30 nurses. Currently there are 2 oxygen plants and 2 more to install, it’s learnt.
