An auspicious cleansing ceremony for a traditional Kayah frog drum was held at the Kayah State Cultural Museum on Wednesday. Chief Minister U Ant Maw and attendees sprinkled scented water over the drum and played it in accordance with traditional customs.

The replacement frog drum was arranged by the Kayah State Government after the original drum, which had been displayed at the museum, was lost after being taken away by armed terrorist groups. The drum is a cherished cultural object of the Kayah ethnic communities. Featuring frog figures and intricate designs, it is considered an auspicious and culturally significant object and is traditionally played on important occasions and during community ceremonies.
