Labour Affairs: Meeting with the Thai Labour Minister

Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe met with Thai Minister for Labour Mr. Jalapun Amornvivat in Bangkok on August 25.

The Union Minister is in Thailand to attend the 29th ASEAN Labor MinistersMeeting and related meetings which is set to be held from 26 to 27 August. During the meeting, they discussed matters pertaining to bilateral labour affairs.

They emphasized on accurate list of Myanmar labours across Thailand, negotiation between respective deparments of both nations to ensure systematic remmittance of earnings through legal channels, acceleration of Certificate of Identity issuance and timely implementation of U-turn system. The meeting also focused on signing Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between social organizations of both countries and opening of Temporary Data Collection Center- TDCC).
