On October 19, the National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) met with the working group representatives of the political parties group at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Central Body in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Chairman of the NSPNC, stated that the working group is requested to coordinate and resolve the challenges faced by the residents in Kayah, Chin, and Pa-O regions regarding repatriation, security, livelihoods, and transportation.

He noted that political parties are organizations representing the people and that the State is taking necessary actions in response to submissions and requests made by people's representatives to ensure national stability, rule of law, and smooth flows of commodities. He also urged the political parties to cooperate and work together.

Subsequently, the meeting focused on several key agendas, including enhancing public participation in the peace process, assessing and gathering needs and perspectives on the peace process to achieve regional stability and socioeconomic development in conflict-affected areas, collaborating and connecting with organizations and individuals capable of mediating or facilitating the peace process, recognizing the necessity for the government and armed organizations to meet and hold discussions to build trust, alongside formulating measures to foster social harmony between the government and the public and establishing frameworks for political parties, including ethnic political parties, to cooperate regionally in peacebuilding efforts.

It is reported that the second day of the meeting will continue on October 20.
