Work on improvement of education: Taninthayi Region CM gave an opening speech

A workshop on improving the effectiveness and quality of Grade-12 teaching for the 2024-2025 academic year was held at the Pyinnya Beikman Hall of the No. (3) Basic Education High School in Dawei Township of Taninthayi Region on 23rd December.

During the event, Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko emphasized that education is a valuable investment for the development of the nation,  the national education strategic plan is undergoing significant reforms, and the government is continuously supporting the education sector. He highlighted that education is an inexhaustible  resource, and the government has been making efforts to reform and enhance the education system, including revising curriculums to meet modern needs and improving the quality of education. He further explained that the purpose of the workshop is to help teachers enhance their teaching quality. After the workshop, he encouraged the teachers to pass on the valuable experiences gained to their students, fostering teamwork and collaboration among students to ensure effective learning.

Following that, Dr. Than Than Oo, the Rector of Dawei University, presented the plans and programs related to improving teaching effectiveness, and U Win Naung, the Director of the Taninthayi Region Education Department expressed his gratitude.

The Grade-12 teaching effectiveness workshop, held as part of the education quality improvement program, will run from December 23 to 27. instructors from Dawei University and Myeik University will train a total of 647 teachers. Additionally, similar workshops for Grade-9 and Grade-5 teachers will be held in all townships of the region’s four districts, where a total of 1,303 teachers will participate, it’s reported.
