The telephone conversation between the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Pakistani Prime Minister Mr. Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif took place in the afternoon on March 31 regarding with a severe earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28 and providing humanitarian assistance.

During the conversation, the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed condolences for the devastation caused by the earthquake in Myanmar, showing solidarity with the Myanmar people. He mentioned that Pakistan would soon send 35 tons of humanitarian aid and 17 tons of rescue materials, highlighting the willingness to provide further assistance as needed.

The Pakistani Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two nations in supporting each other, especially during difficult times. Prime Minister Senior General expressed gratitude for the support and reassured that Myanmar is actively engaged in rescue operations.

He provided updates on the casualties, confirming that 2,065 people have died and over 3,900 have been injured, with 270 still missing. He clarified that some misinformation regarding casualties among those practicing Islam was incorrect, stating the actual figures were lower.

The dialogue reaffirmed the strong relations between the two countries, with both leaders showing appreciation for mutual support. Senior General highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and thanked Pakistan for its assistance. The conversation ended on a positive note, reinforcing the commitment to work together in the future.
