Youth Gathering Event: Meeting with youths in Meiktila

Youth Gathering Event, jointly organized by Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee and Mandalay Region Youth Affairs Committee, was held at Kantawmingalar Hall of Meiktila in Mandalay Region, on Sunday.

Vice Chairman (1) of the Central Committee and Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr Maung Thin attended the event and made an opening speech. He said the government is paying special emphasis on the youths, polishing them to become capable resources of the State.

While no such independent body existed in the past, a dedicated Ministry of Youth Affairs has been established under the current administration. The President's initiative aims to place youth leadership at the forefront and guarantee a committed response to the needs of the future generation.

He added that Meiktila area is the place that initiated the Literary Campaign.  The Ministry will implement the development project of livelihood for youths in rural areas, starting from Meiktila. He also urged the youths to strive for their goals without misleading.

Then, the Vice Chairman of Mandalay Region Youth Affairs Committee gave a speech and urged the youths to try their best to become decent persons, observing the international affairs and developed technologies. Afterwards, attending youths raised questions in which the Union Minister replied it. Later, the Union Minister and officials cordially greeted the attendees and concluded the event.
