Livestock and Irrigation: Visiting livestock farms and reservoir in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, together with Deputy Minister Dr. Ye Tun Win and officials, visited the Shwe Myo Livestock Zone in Tatkon Township of Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.

They inspected duck breeding activities, local cattle breeding programs to improve local breeds, indigenous chicken breeding for standard production, and duck hatchery operations for distributing ducklings. The Union Minister instructed officials to improve the quality and distribution of ducklings, to carry out proper breeding records and evaluation of local cattle breeds, and to educate farmers to support livestock development.

He also visited the Kin Tha Reservoir near Kin Tha Village and inspected water storage. He emphasized protecting water catchment areas by planting trees to ensure stable irrigation water supply.

Later, he visited the Dairy Cattle Breeding and Distribution Farm (Nay Pyi Taw), operated by the Livestock and Veterinary Department. He instructed officials to meet production targets and strengthen disease prevention measures. The Union Minister then reviewed milk cattle farming, grass cultivation, and distribution of liquid nitrogen to regions and states.
