


Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Dr Moe Zaw Tun together with officials inspected Kanbawzathadi Palace and departmental works in Bago on 24th May.
In the inspection, an official of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum reported in making researches on excavation at the 16 places of ancient mound sites in the palace compound, renovation of Bamarathana throne and Pyathat hall in original style, maintenance tasks for every year, excavation and maintenance of moat and city wall of Hantha ancient city with Bago Region Government fund, implementing Kanbawzathadi palace as historical park and salient points of the Department through powerpoint presentation.
In response to the reports, the Deputy Minister stressed the needs on maintenance for the long-term sustainability of 14 ancient brick mounds excavated in the palace compound, plans on implementation of Kanbawzathadi Palace as an international standard historical park, construction of new buildings in line with the rules of Development Committee and creating the scenic sites with the beauty of natural environment, renovation of ancient brick walls in original styles and plans on annual maintenance works.
The Deputy Minister then looked into displays of ancient materials including ancient teak pillars at the left building of the palace, Bamarathana throne, the palace halls, excavation of brick mounds and renovation and maintenance tasks.
