Relief Aid: Aircrafts and ships with aid go to Rakhine State

Military aircrafts and navy ships have been dispatched to Rakhine State to render relief aid and consumer goods provided by the family members of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air), donors and the National Disaster Management Committee for those suffering from effects of the Cyclone Mocha.

To Rakhine State, the Navy ship Mottama left the Bo Aung Kyaw Port Terminal of Yangon, carrying 6,000 bags of foodstuffs weighing about 60 tonnes which include foods for five people per bag from the Defense Service Office (Army), 12,000 bags of rice weighing 600 tonnes, 1,000 soap rolls weighing 37 tonnes from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, 10,000 bags of rice bags weighing about 105 tonnes from the State Administration Council Office, construction materials from the Myanmar Economic Holding Public Company Limited, an MPT mobile car, a communication tower and related equipment form the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Also, from the No.4 Navy Port Terminal, the Navy ship Maha Bandula has carried 113 boxes of instant noodle, 8,800 packets of Electrolyte Beverage, 5,000 eggs, purified drinking water, meat, fishes, 100 viss of fish paste and 800 viss of dried fish from the Defense Service Office (Navy), 10,000 eggs from the Yangon Region Command, 500 bags of rice from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. It’s reported that plans are underway to continuously transport relief aid by Navy ships to the locals in Rakhine State.
