The Ministry of Electricity and Energy on April 25 announced that despite rising global oil prices due to conflicts in the Middle East, domestic fuel supply remains stable.
Regular monitoring and coordination have ensured continuous distribution, with a stockpile sufficient for 60 days. Agreements with friendly countries allow the import of crude oil and other petroleum products to maintain supply. Current fuel prices in Myanmar remain reasonable compared to Southeast Asian countries.
The government is also expanding local refineries to produce more fuel domestically, helping keep prices stable. Consumers are urged not to hoard fuel and to buy only what they need. Fuel for motorcycles and small vehicles is being sold at affordable rates, and diesel for farmers is subsidized. Authorities continue to monitor distribution and encourage public cooperation to maintain smooth operations.
