





The Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, accompanied by the Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and responsible officials visited the Radanapunnavara Dathadhatu CetiyaPagoda in Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region, on November 25.
They performed a clockwise circumambulation of the Pagoda, paid homage and made cash donations to the pagoda board of trustees.Following this, the Union Minister inspected the progress of directives given by the Head of State, including maintaining cleanliness and greenery within the precincts of the pagoda, planting trees and flowers, and other related tasks.
He also gave the necessary instructions to the trustees.Later, the Union Minister and party visited the Mahagandayon Monastery in Amarapura Township. There, they paid homage to the Chief Presiding and State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Bhaddanta Indobhasabhivamsa, and donated offertories, robes and cash donations and supplicated religious matters.
During the morning of November 25, the Union Minister and party inspected the implementation of instructions given by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister during his recent visit to Mandalay including the renovation and maintenance of historic buildings in the Mandalay Palace, ongoing construction projects, and the preservation of religious sites such as the Maha Atulawaiyan Monastery (Ahtumashi Monastery).
They reviewed the progress on the restoration of the Shwe Nan Daw Monastery (Golden Monastery) and its adherence to the directives, as well as the condition of 19 Thudhamma resthouses, including the location of 14 that had been damaged, the row of Thudhamma resthouses at the Maha Sakkya Marazein Pagoda, detailed plans and documentation, including drawings and photographs, to restore the stupas to their original design as constructed during the reign of King Mindon.
Additionally, they inspected the ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness, greenery, and long-term sustainability within the religious precincts.On the afternoon of November 24, the Union Minister visited the Inwa Ancient Cultural Zone, where they examined the remains of the Maha Zeya Pahta Brick or U-O Road, constructed in 1822 by Prince Maung Oh. Out of the original 5,500 feet long (about 2,600 currently remaining), they assessed the damaged sections and discussed plans for restoration to facilitate smoother travel for domestic and international visitors.
The Union Minister also inspected the preservation efforts at historic sites in Inwa, including the fortifications and palace grounds, the statue of King Thado Minphya, and the Mae Nu Brick Monastery donated in 1822 by King Bagyidaw and Queen Nanmadaw Me Nu,and gave necessary instruction on the restoration and maintenance efforts, cleaning and greening tasks ensuring the sites remain well-preserved and visually appealing.
