Inter-Township Judo Competition: YGN CM attended final matches and prizes awarding

The 2026 Yangon Region Chief Minister's Cup Novice and U-20 Inter-Township Judo Competition and Prize Presentation Ceremony was held Thursday morning at Padetha Indoor Stadium in South Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu attended the event and watched the final matches of the various competition categories.

Following the competitions, the prize presentation ceremony was held. Yangon Region ministers and responsible officials presented medals and cash awards to the chief referee and referees who officiated throughout the tournament, the first-, second-, and third-place winners in the Girls' Youth (23) kg category and the Boys' Youth (50) kg category, the recipients of the Best Player Awards in the Women's Novice, Men's Novice, Girls' Youth, and Boys' Youth competitions; and the Hmawbi Township team, which won the overall championship trophy in the Novice Division after securing four gold medals, seven silver medals, and five bronze medals.

Afterwards, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu presented cash awards and the overall championship trophy to the Hlaing Township team, which won the overall championship in the Youth Division with six gold medals, four silver medals, and three bronze medals.

The championship, which featured 120 judo athletes, was held from June 29 to July 2, it’s reported.
