Coordination Meeting: Meeting on rehabilitation and resettlement held

A coordination meeting on the rehabilitation and resettlement of Demoso , Hpruso , and Bawlakhe townships in Kayah State was held Thursday morning at the meeting hall of the Kayah State Government Office. Kayah State Chief Minister U Aunt Maw attended the meeting and delivered the opening address.

In his remarks, the Chief Minister said that, in accordance with the guidance of the Head of State, the Kayah State Government would implement rehabilitation and resettlement activities in Demoso, Hpruso, and Bawlakhe townships based on established priority levels. He stated that, in carrying out these activities, the relevant government departments should assign the necessary personnel and prepare detailed implementation plans for the programmes under their respective responsibilities, ensuring that they are carried out with due diligence. He also called on members of the State Government to closely supervise the implementation of the work.

Following this, officials from state-, district-, and township-level departments presented their respective implementation plans for carrying out the rehabilitation and resettlement programmes. The Regional Military Operation Commander, members of the State Government, and State Hluttaw representatives supplemented the presentations by discussing arrangements for providing security, conducting mine-clearance operations, and implementing the planned activities.

Afterwards, the Chief Minister coordinated the issues requiring interdepartmental cooperation based on the presentations and delivered concluding remarks, it’s reported.
