Fire broke out at High School : Mon State CM inspects school buildings engulfed by fire

A fire broke out at No.9 Basic Education High School in Pabedan ward, Mawlamyine on Friday at 00:15 AM. Altogether 25 fire trucks and a total of 500 people including fire brigade members, Tatmadaw men, City development staff and social organizations put out the fire and it was completely extinguished at 1:49 AM. 

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein together with officials inspected the fire breaking out and instructed to build a new 3-storey school building at the designated area as soon as possible and to provide school furniture for the students to be able to carry on learning at school.

Then, the State Chief Minister and party met with departmental officials and teachers at the Community Hall of No.9 Basic Education High School. There, the State Chief Minister instructed to form an investigation committee to rebuild a new school building.

He also instructed the township education officer to coordinate with the principal of the school to ensure that the education of the students is not affected. He said that the state government will assist if it is necessary to submit report to the Ministry of Education for the construction of a new school building.

After that, the departmental officials reported on the conditions of the fire breaking out and future plans. The state ministers supplemented on the reports and the State Chief Minister coordinated the needs. Afterwards, the State Chief Minister and party attended the work coordination meeting regarding the fire at No.9 Basic Education High School where the State Chief Minister instructed to report on the findings of the fire breaking out by forming committees, to reconstruct the new school building and to report whether there are sufficient classrooms and furniture.

Next, the Commender said that in order not to affect the education of students by dividing two session of school time and to keep the desks systematically so that they can be reused. The attendees also made reports and the State Chief Minister coordinated the needs.
