

According to the observations at 5:30 pm on Saturday, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” over the East Central Bay of Bengal has moved Northeastwards and centered at about (230) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Coco Island, (240) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Hainggyigyun, (250) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Sittwe, (330) Nautical miles North-Northwest of Port Blair (India) and (305) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh).
The present stage of the Storm is coded red stage. “MOCHA” is likely to move North-Northeastwards and forecast to cross Rakhine Coasts on Sunday morning, the 14 of May, and cross between Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh) and Kyaukphyu (Myanmar) near Sittwe (Myanmar) around afternoon on the same day as Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm. Thereafter, it is likely to move North-Northeastwards towards Chin State and Magway and Sagaing Regions as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm.
