New Academic Year: Fresher Welcome Ceremony of Yezin University

University of Foresty and Environmental Science under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation held its 2025-2026 Academic Year Fresher Welcome Ceremony on Wednesday at the convocation hall of Yezin University Campus in Nay Pyi Taw.

Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi attended the event together with Deputy Minister U Min Thu, Permanent Secretary, departmental and concerned officials. Speaking at the occasion, the Union Minister stressed forest conservation, benefiting biodiversity and ecosystem of different kinds of forests across the country.

Highlighting the country’s efforts for environmental conservation, the Union Minister said the University of Foresty and Environmental Science annually truns out skillful students who are expert in environmental conservation. In order to nurture more skillful forestry professionals, university level forestry courses have been conducting since 1923 and it reached 100 years in 2023. Students are urged to try their best for the nation’s forestry sector.

After welcoming speeches delivered by the Directors-General of the Department of Forestry and the Environmental Conservation Department, one of the representative students expressed words of thanks. Then the prize awarding ceremony followed where the Union Minister, Deputy Minister and Permanent Secretary presented Academic Excellence Awards to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners. The Union Minister and party also enjoyed the performances of the students.
