Centennial Celebration Ceremony: YGN Region CM opened the ceremony by cutting the ribbon

The centennial celebration ceremony of the historic Bogyoke Aung San Market was held this morning at the Market in Pabedan Township, Yangon Region. It was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, members of the region government, department officials, invited guests, and dignitaries.

 

First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and officials opened the centennial celebration of the historic Bogyoke Aung San Market by cutting the ribbon.

 

Following this, after musical performances, the Chief Minister and officials toured the market stalls inside the centennial celebration and viewed the 100-year historical milestones of Bogyoke Aung San Market on display.

 

The centennial celebration of the historic Bogyoke Aung San Market will be held from October 7, to October 11, 2026.

 

Subsequently, ceremonies presenting certificates of honor for the completion of back-alley cleanups by the Yangon City Development Committee were held at the back-alley, 33rd Road, Ward No. 1, Kyauktada Township and at Lanthit Road, Ward No. 3, Lanmadaw Township. The Region Chief Minister inspected the back-alley cleanup records and completion status, presenting certificates of honor to responsible officials for successfully keeping the back alleys trash-free, according to reports.
