




The 13th day of the Third Regular Session of the Pyithu Hluttaw was held at 10 a.m. on 7 October at the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Of the 351 Hluttaw Representatives eligible to attend, 340 were present.
In accordance with the agenda, the question-and-answer session commenced. A total of 10 questions were raised, including questions by U Salai Aung Pyae of Tedim Constituency on whether there was a plan to extend a 66-kV main power transmission line from Kalay to Tedim, U Sai Kan of Mong Hsu Constituency on when staff housing and a new school building would be constructed for the Mongawt Basic Education High School (Branch) in Mong Hsu Township and Dr. Kyaw Kyaw Htay of Dawei Constituency on the measures being taken, and plans to be implemented, to bring universities established by the State up to international standards.
Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aye Kyaw and Deputy Ministers for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing and Dr. Zaw Myint responded to the questions and provided clarifications.
Next, U Win Myint Maung of Kyaukpadaung Constituency submitted a proposal urging the Union Government to reintroduce and implement, in accordance with Section 368 of Chapter VIII (Citizenship) of the 2008 Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, a programme to select outstanding students in arts and science subjects and recipients of outstanding achievement awards in arts and science for special training and development. The Hluttaw decided to accept the proposal for discussion, it was reported.
