Coordination Meeting : Meeting on Digital & e-Government Implementation Held

A coordination meeting on the implementation of digital and e-Government processes at the Ministry of Health, medical universities and universities of medical-related disciplines was held at 9:30 a.m. on 6 October 2026 at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Health.

The Union Minister for Health attended the meeting and delivered the opening remarks. In his opening remarks, the Union Minister said that, in accordance with the Digital Development Strategy 2030, digital and e-Government initiatives need to be implemented within a short period. He said that the Ministry is making arrangements to accelerate the implementation of digital and e-Government initiatives during December, and that universities are also required to participate in and implement the initiatives simultaneously.

He stressed the need to develop the Digital Student Information Management System into a common digital platform that can be used by all universities. He called on the universities to share information and experiences on the digital initiatives currently being implemented at their respective institutions, including difficulties encountered, and to discuss the areas where support is required from the Ministry.

He also assured the meeting that the necessary assistance would be provided. Next, the Deputy Minister for Health discussed the arrangements for establishing the necessary linkages for implementing digital information systems, the designation of representatives at each university, and the need to cooperate only with companies accredited by the Cyber Security Department for matters related to data security.

Representatives attending the meeting then reported and exchanged views on the e-Library systems, webpages, Learning Management Systems and Student Information Systems being implemented at their respective universities. The Union Minister subsequently gave further instructions on addressing the requirements and making necessary improvements.

In the afternoon, the Director-General of the Department of Human Resources for Health, together with responsible officials and representatives from medical universities and universities of medical-related disciplines, visited Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University (NSPU). During the visit, they studied the Campus Monitoring System and Moodle Learning Management System being implemented at the university and listened to explanations regarding the systems.
