Education Sector : Meeting on History of Myanmar Basic Education

Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein attended a coordination meeting for the compiling of the History of Myanmar Basic Education on Monday at the Ministry of Education office in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Ministry of Education will compile the history of Myanmar basic education with the aim of enabling younger generations to know, understand, value, and preserve Myanmar's educational history and cultural values, presenting reliable historical records through different periods, and allowing them to appreciate and experience the significant historical events of Myanmar’s glorious heritage.

The Union Minister added that the compilation will cover educational conditions such as the feudal education system, the changes under the colonial education system, and the state of education in post-independence Myanmar, calling upon senior historians, professors, and teachers to work together harmoniously.

It was followed by a round of discussions by the senior historians, professors and participants. The meeting then ended with closing remarks by the Union Minister.
