Tour in Bagan: Heritage preservation works in Bagan

Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint made an inspection tour in Bagan.

On 6th June, the Union Minister and party inspected the preservation of Aggatate Cave Pagoda and Paung Kuu Kone Pagoda, and instructed to carry out research on flourishing of Buddha Sasana, art and architecture in Pyu Era and share the knowledge to public. They then paid homage to Bu Pagoda, inspecting the restoration works and precaution measures.

The Union Minister also inspected the palace sites of Kings Anawyahta and Kyan Sittha, and Bagan Golden Palace where he stressed to continue excavation, research works, and maintenance process while rearranging the exhibition for more public interest. At the Department of Archeology and National Museum (Bagan Branch), they observed the work process at the laboratory.

The Union Minister and party then inspected the maintainance of eastern moat of Bagan City and paid homage to Arnanda Pagada and Hteelominlo Pagoda.

On the 7th, the Union Minister inspected the Sinka brick structure and instructed to maintain and preserve it in line with the established procedures, rule and regulations. The Union Minister then visited U Ba Nyein Lacqureware house and observed the workshop.

Later, the Union Minister inspected Bagan Information and Training Center conducted by the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.
