On Thursday, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win accompanied by concerned officials inspected the completion status of prefabricated modular clinic building donated by Thailand through AHA Center, aiming to accelerate the rehabilitation process in earthquake affected Aung Myin Gone Village in Lewe, Nay Pyi Taw.

The installation of 60-ft long and 30-ft wide one storey building took about 10 days to complete. As the prefabricated modular buildings are built with disaster resilient standards, they can withstand natural disasters effectively and reduce the risks for the users.

Then, the Union Minister visited No.1 Basic Education High School (Lewe), and inspected the 60-ft-long, 30-ft-wide prefabricated modular school building constructed with the support of  Thailand. The Union Minister urged teachers and faculty members to use the building effectively and to carry out regular maintenance measures for the long-term resilience of the building.

Due to devastating Mandalay Earthquake, Myanmar suffered massive losses and damages including infrastructure. With the support of the ASEAN member states and friendly nations including Thailand, the rehabilitation process has been accelerated effectively.

Thailand donated 17 prefabricated school and clinic buildings for earthquak-affected communities in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region and Shan State, in order to ensure uninterrupted education and healthcare services.
