





President U Min Aung Hlaing said today that Myanmar and Vietnam will further expand cooperation not only in trade and investment but also in agriculture and value-added production, digital infrastructure, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, digital payments and renewable energy, said, President U Min Aung Hlaing, at the Myanmar-Vietnam Business Forum held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

In his address, the President highlighted the points including based on the 50-year-long friendship and cordial relations between Myanmar and Vietnam, efforts should be intensified to further promote cooperation in the areas of economy, trade and investment, bilateral trade reached more than US$510.119 million in the 2025-2026 financial year.
As products from the two countries have the potential to complement each other, bilateral trade should be further expanded, Vietnam is the seventh-largest investor in Myanmar, with around 30 investment projects valued at more than US$2.053 billion.
Further efforts should therefore be made to increase Vietnamese investment in Myanmar, Vietnamese businesses are encouraged to invest in agriculture, livestock breeding, food production, agricultural machinery, seed production, and value-added production of food and fisheries products etc.
and the cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment, transportation, science and technology, agriculture and livestock breeding, tourism and people-to-people exchanges should be accelerated across all sectors to build a sustainable economic partnership for future generations.
