Parliamentary Affairs : Meeting with Hluttaw Representatives in Mandalay

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi met with hluttaw representatives from Mandalay Region at the Mandalay Region Hluttaw on September 5.

The Speaker called on the representatives to strengthen their knowledge of laws, improve hluttaw work, and better represent the needs and voices of the people. He also stressed the importance of hluttaw committees in reviewing laws and supporting regional development.

He urged all to increase public awareness through media, hluttaw websites, social media, public hearings, mock parliaments, workshops and seminars. He also encouraged greater cooperation with international parliamentary organizations.

The Mandalay Region Hluttaw Speaker reported on the third session of the regional hluttaw and its current activities. Committee chairpersons and secretaries also reported on their work, and Speaker U Khin Yi gave instructions. In the afternoon, U Khin Yi met with staff of the Mandalay Region Hluttaw office, and provided educational assistance to their children and food supplies to the staff.
