Opening of Safety & Health Training : MOL Union Minister delivers the opening address

The opening ceremony of the Occupational Safety and Health Training Course was held in Maha Aungmyay Township of Mandalay on September 4, with Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe delivering an address.

The Union Minister said that the training courses were being conducted to enhance the professional competencies of members of Occupational Safety and Health Committees. He stressed that the training could help assist in establishing occupational safety and health management systems, and raise awareness and knowledge of committee members.

Next, the Union Minister met with members of the Occupational Safety and Health Committees and Labour Affairs Coordination Committees at Saparhnan  Tyre Factory in Pyigyitagon Township and Kyaw Nyo Myat Electrical powered Metal Products Manufacturing Factory in Amarapura Township.

The Union Minister also inspected and encouraged the mobile medical services being provided on-site at the factories to insured workers covered by the Social Security Scheme.
