Ministry of Energy announced on Wednesday, that there is no risk of fuel shortages in Myanmar and urged the public not to panic.
Due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, global fuel supply routes have faced challenges, affecting many countries. However, Myanmar imports fuel mainly by sea from Singapore and Malaysia, not from Thailand.
The government has arranged measures to ensure a stable supply chain. Myanmar currently has about 40 days of fuel reserves., and fuel is being distributed nationwide from the Thilawa terminal. Two fuel tankers have arrived at Thilawa Port, six are on the way, and eight more are waiting to load. The ministry said it is closely monitoring the oil and gas situation and has plans in place for emergencies. The public is advised to rely only on official announcements and avoid believing rumors or buying and storing fuel unnecessarily.
