Coordination Meeting: Meeting on opening vocational trainings held

A coordination meeting to discuss the opening of vocational training courses to assist those who have not yet passed the primary, middle, or high school levels in securing employment was held at Meeting Hall of Office (13) of the Ministry of Education office in Nay Pyi Taw on January 12.

At the meeting, Union Minister Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein stated that the Head of State had given directives to organize courses to provide employment opportunities for those who have not yet passed the matriculation examination. In order to enable those who have not yet passed the matriculation examination to obtain employment opportunities, the Ministry of Education has held coordination meetings with relevant universities and has also been working to open "Job Ready Skill" training courses, starting with courses that each university can conduct based on their respective strengths.

She also mentioned that regarding the work with industrial, agricultural, and livestock high schools under the Ministry of Education, there are a total of 89 industrial, agricultural, and livestock high schools where students who have completed Grade 9 are studying Grades 10, 11, and 12. They will sit for the matriculation examination in March.

Therefore, unlike the regular Grade 12 streams, questions will be compiled for industrial, agricultural, and livestock [streams] in an integrated manner. After Grade 12 students of industrial, agricultural, and livestock high schools pass their matriculation exam, they will proceed to relevant agricultural and industrial sectors, and so on, she explained.

Afterwards, Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint explained and discussed matters related to vocational training courses to support employment for those who have not yet passed the primary, middle, or high school levels.

Then, Deputy Ministers, Directors-General, and Deputy Directors-General from relevant ministries who attended the meeting explained and presented the status of preparations for opening vocational training courses to support employment for those who have not yet passed the primary, middle, or high school levels. The Union Minister provided necessary guidance and delivered concluding remarks, it is learned.
