Regarding Follow-up findings on the Seizure of Equipment Used in Drug Production in Hsipaw and Mongyai Townships, press release was issued on January 12.

In the release, it’s said that as previously announced, equipment used for online scams and gambling and items used in drug production were seized in Thipaw and Mongyai Townships on January 9, 10, and 11, 2026. Based on assessments of the chemicals currently seized from the second location, approximately 20 km southwest of Mongyai town, it is estimated that about 27 tons of Ice (worth approximately 540 billion Kyats) could have been produced.

If converted into stimulant tablets, this could yield around 810 million tablets. If these stimulant tablets were to enter the market, drugs worth approximately 1,620 billion Kyats would have been distributed. An analysis of the drug manufacturing equipment seized from this location indicates that the site was regularly producing drug quantities exceeding 27 tons of Ice or approximately 810 million stimulant tablets.

Furthermore, a large number of packaging materials bearing the words "GUAN YIN WANG" and packaging materials with Chinese characters were also seized from this second location and from a third location about 19 km to its southwest. In 2025, out of the 37.815 tons of Ice seized nationwide in Myanmar, 11.686 tons were found in packaging marked "GUAN YIN WANG" and 0.96 tons in packaging with Chinese characters, totaling 12.646 tons (with a total estimated street value of 252.92 billion Kyats).

Therefore, it has been determined that the quantity produced and distributed from these two locations accounted for about 33.44% of the total Ice seized across the entire country in 2025. Consequently, based on investigation findings, it is hereby announced that the three drug manufacturing sites exposed and seized on January 10 and 11, 2026, have been identified as primary sources of drug production within Myanmar.
