








Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and officials on 17th August paid homage Sitagu Sayadawgyi, submitted the status of renovation works for ancient buildings and stupas damaged by Mandalay earthquake and made donations including miniature Buddha statues and cash.
Then, the Union Minister and party inspected the renovation works at damaged pagodas including SwanOoPonNyaShin, Ceti Hla and ShweMuDaw and instructed to maintain the pagodas in accordance with the advices of Myanmar Engineering Council and experts.
The Union Minister also visited the Cluster of Pyu Kan Ceti and instructed for systematic renovation of Konebaung era stucco floral works at remaining seven ancient cetis. At the AthinKaYar Villa in Sagaing, on behalf of the Ministry and well-wisher, the Union Minister donated Bronze Buddha statues and relics to Sagaing Region Government.
At the Say Pagoda and Phaya Ngasu, the Sayadaws enshrined Buddha’s statues and relics donated by the Union Minister and well-wishers. Then, the Union Minister and party inspected the renovation works of damaged pagodas and stupas in Makayar ancient city.
Following the inspection of the renovations of ancient buildings and pagodas in the compound of Snake pagoda in Palake, the Union Minister offered Buddha statues, waso robe and cash donations to the Sayadaws. It is learnt that donations can be made for the restoration of ancient pagodas damaged by the recent earthquake, through the Department of Archaeology and National Museum, Department of Religious Affairs, or relevant pagoda boards of trustees.
