








The Ministry of Education and the Shan State Government jointly held an opening ceremony for non-formal education sector activities on July 2, at the City Hall in Taunggyi. These activities include a short-term awareness training course on continuous education and other non-formal education programs.
At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung expressed his sincere gratitude. He noted that, under the guidance of the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister, the Department of Non-Formal and Lifelong Education, Ministry of Education, will conduct a 45-day short-term awareness training course as "Extensive Study" for learners from previous continuous education reading circles and those who have completed the basic primary level. He urged officials, guardians, and teachers to work together to ensure that children who lost the opportunity to attend school for various reasons receive this "second chance" and do not miss out on their rights to education.
Following this, Deputy Minister for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing stated that the aim is to create an inclusive education system for all segments of society in Myanmar, including ethnic minority groups and those living in remote areas, by providing broader learning opportunities.
Subsequently, Director-General of the Department of Non-Formal and Lifelong Education U Thant Zin Tun, provided a detailed explanation of non-formal education sector activities. Deputy Minister U Nay Myo Hlaing then presented continuous education curricula and teaching guides, which were received by the relevant officials. A group photo was taken, and the Chief Minister, Deputy Minister and officials, cordially greeted the attendees.
In addition, Chief Minister U Aung Aung, along with officials, conducted a field inspection of the progress of the inter-Village road construction projects in Hti Phaung Village Tract and Namt See Village Tract in Taunggyi Township. He provided necessary instructions regarding the project.
