Inspection Tour on Railway Sections: MOTDC UM made inspection tour on railway sections

Union Minister for Transport, Digital Development and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, on September 13 and 14, together with the Shan State Chief Minister and state government members and departmental responsible officials, inspected the Yinmapbin-Kalaw and Taunggyi-Pawmu railway sections within the Thazi-Shwenyaung-Taunggyi railway line, Thazi Station, and the diesel locomotive shed.

First, on the morning of September 13, the Union Minister and party traveled by special train from Yinmapbin Station in Thazi Township, inspected within the Yinmapbin-Kalaw railway section and at Shweminhbone Bridge, and gave necessary guidance.

Then, the Union Minister and party arrived at and inspected the First Lunhto Station and Khweyoke Station, the Kabarni Tunnel with a length of 830 feet at milepost (359/16-20), and Kalaw Station, and gave necessary guidance.

Continuing, on the morning of September 14, the Union Minister and party met with responsible officials at the state level under the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications in Taunggyi Township, southern Shan State, at Taunggyi Railway Rest House, gave necessary guidance, and then traveled by special train from Taunggyi Station to Pawmu Station and inspected in detail the railway section and the Hti-Thein circular railway tracks and embankments for soundness and good condition, as well as the repair work carried out to ensure good condition of retaining walls and drainage outlets.

Continuing, the Union Minister and party arrived at Thazi Station and inspected the site where a new railway bridge crossing at the station entrance is to be constructed and the site where a new station is to be built, and gave guidance that the steam locomotive at the Thazi diesel locomotive repair shed should be sent as quickly as possible to the Insein Diesel Locomotive Factory to be repaired so that it can be used as a sightseeing train on the mountain railway sections.
