The centre provided services to survivors of wartime sexual abuse. The Aman Centre’s founder, Lobna Ali, reported that official statistics indicated approximately 990 cases of rape involving minor girls in Al-Jazeera State.
Civil society organizations documented around 1,600 cases of sexual abuse against women during the conflict, with 650 cases recorded in Darfur and the remainder in Al-Jazeera State. Data showed that minors accounted for 33.5 percent of rape cases in the region.
Among these cases, 34 percent of the girls were reported to be between four and six months pregnant. Additionally, about 22 percent of victims were forcibly married following abduction and assault. The Aman Centre continued to provide support and raise awareness about the scale of sexual violence affecting women and girls during the conflict in Sudan.
