Four lion cubs born in April at the Kristians and Zoo in southern Norway venture outside for the first time.

After being born safely indoors during the chilly month of April, the four lion cubs were finally old enough and strong enough to take their very first steps into their spacious outdoor enclosure.

The cubs acting exactly like domestic kittens at first—highly curious but very cautious. They gingerly sniffed the fresh grass, closely followed their mother's movements, and eventually began to tumble, play, and wrestle with one another as they grew more comfortable with the open air.

African lions are vulnerable in the wild due to habitat loss and poaching. Successful births and healthy development at accredited conservation parks like Dyreparken play a vital role in global population management and public education.
