





Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, accompanied by concerned officials, conducted an inspection on Sunday to assess the conditions of temporary shelter camps in Nay Pyi Taw for families of government employees affected by the recent earthquake.
They first visited the Myanmar Post Office in Zabuthiri Township, where 92 government staff families had been temporarily relocated following earthquake damage. During the visit, the Union Minister reviewed the shelter conditions, food provisions, healthcare services, and the continuity of office operations.
The Union Minister provided guidance on addressing necessary improvements and offered words of encouragement to the affected staff families. They then proceeded to the Nay Pyi Taw Railway Station in Pobbathiri Township, where they inspected the readiness of the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw DEMU train and the Mandalay-Nay Pyi Taw train service.
The Union Minister instructed for ensuring timely departures, adherence to speed limits, and the dissemination of travel information to the public. They then visited a temporary shelter for 800 affected staff families and oversaw the conditions of the shelter and the medical services provided by Myanma Railways' health team. Since the shelter opened, 771 individuals have received medical treatment.
They also inspected the kitchen facilities, and stressed the need for systematic housing arrangements for families and the advance planning of additional camp spaces to ensure convenient accommodation. They then inspected the temporary shelter for 434 employees' families at the Myanma Railways' office compound and checked the arrangements for housing and food provisions, offering encouragement to the families.
On arrival at the Road Transport Administration Department (Ywa Taw), the Union Minister viewed the shelter conditions for 108 department employees' families and extended words of support.
